Don't let your mind bully your body

When was the last time you looked in the mirror and genuinely pointed out everything you LOVED instead of everything you were unhappy with?

Think of your body as the vehicle to your dreams. Everything you want in life. Honor it. Respect it. Love it. Nurture it.

" I battle with my diet every day. I battle with my weight every day. I battle with my mind every day. I battle with my sport every day. I battle with my body every day. I battle with self love every day. But I put up the fight"

I fought Jorge, the photographer long and hard on the shorts... I don't do shorts... thats a big giant N-O-P-E

HE WON.

I grew up loving 2 things... food and strong movement... and my body showed every bit of it... I still love those 2 things... and then some... and my body still shows it and then some... I never had a thigh gap (saves lots of snacks from falling on the floor btw) and my pants always fit tighter than I would like them to (my husband never complains though). I remember in 7th grade, the boys used to ask me what I squatted - I never understood what they meant or why they asked... (Now I’ll gladly show you, let alone tell you ...) • I fought the shorts. I lost the battle. And then grabbed a jump rope on top of that losing battle. Operation jello factory (you know the Jello song right...?) • I battle with my diet every day. I battle with my weight every day. I battle with my mind every day. I battle with my sport every day. I battle with my body every day. I battle with self love every day. But I put up the fight - and I don’t always win, but I always come back a little stronger... although I guess in theory, THAT IS A WIN • Instagram doesn’t show the battles. Just like the compression leggings don’t show what’s under them. Instagram doesn’t show the truth. They were smart enough to mask the imperfections with filters. And who wants to leave sad soppy stories on their feed for loss of followers... • I fight the fight. It sucks - but that’s life. Life is always going to stick you in a pair of shorts that make you really uncomfortable - for many others to see.. and then maybe even add a little twist on top of it. And you have 2 choices. Run away and hide... or put those shorts on, own them, and grow from the battle. • “They” say “Perfection is an illusion” - but is it? Nah - being YOU - truly YOU - the imperfect version of YOU ... now THAT’s perfection.
